beautiful bergdorf’s
So excited to find this waiting for me today after work. So many wonderful photos but of course I am drawn architectural inspiration theme!
"The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years."
- Audrey Hepburn
color CLASHING?!
I can’t help but be slightly personally offended when a trend that I see year round in my closet is referred to as “color clashing”. I think I would prefer something a bit more refined like Singing All Tones or Bright Idea. IDK I’m not a copywriter… ;)

| my TOPS | my highlights of Fashion’s Night Out
Waiting patiently in line at @DVF made Troy and I think about how we need to become real big deals in NY before next year.:) But despite that we had lots of fun visiting stores in the Meatpacking District and purchasing items from The Shops at Target and the great temporary stores that have been set up under The High Line next door to DVF. Definitely worth checking out if not only for the food. ( They will be there through October) AND I heard a rumor of AMAZING Thai inspired hot dogs from Asian Dog. ;)

| incidental INSPIRATION | Backstage Illustrations from Carolina Herrera
Looking through fashion week photos I came across these illustrations by Samantha Hahn that she completed today backstage at Carolina Herrera. While fashion illustrations have become trendy I still love them and have tremendous respect for someone who can put these together in an afternoon! BEAUTIFUL!

Most Wearable of S/S Fashion Week 2013
The only thing I love more than looking at amazing clothing is to WEAR amazing clothing. Unfortunately my style is a victim of my own designer income. How ironic? But these wearable looks I think will be accessible and may not have to break the bank. JCrew is bringing high fashion the the masses while I know Zara is already putting together their own inspiration boards based these designs. Remember you can value engineer just about anything!;) ~amberlee
Ps This part 1 of a 7 part series on fashion week so stick around for a full fashion week round up!

Best of Pattern of S/S Fashion Week 2013
The surface pattern designer in me LOVES to see the next new thing in print! I always go to DVF first but to my suprise this season there was much less pattern than I expected. Bold colors used with dramatic cuts and detail were center stage in her show, but Fashion Week as a whole pulled through to provide enough for this post!:) Enjoy! ~amberlee

There were a ride range of colors presented at this years fashion week. Brights, deep tones and soft blushing hues all shined this spring. I can’t help but draw inspiration from these amazing palettes! ~amberleeBest of Color of S/S Fashion Week 2013

WTF of S/S Fashion Week 2013
Sometimes designers mess up. Most of us are lucky do so in the quiet of our studio, but when you’re kind of a big deal there is no place to hide at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. And while I have nothing but respect for someone who can make it on this big stage, these are the looks that I feel could have used a second look! ~amberlee
